Guess everyone is stuffed with turkey, ham, dressing and all that good stuff.  We wished everyone a Merry Christmas last week, just forgot to add it to the article.  It was in my notes, but that doesn't count.  I think that's called a "Senior Moment".  While it's still on my mind, we hope everyone has a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

We received such a lovely note and Christmas card from Doris Grubbs Campbell, Class of 1941 now of Marlin.  Said she's doing better, gets around on a walker.  Her speech is good but her memory is bad and the doctor doesn't think it will improve.  Her hand writing is good and it's so great to hear from her.

Got a nice e-mail from Mike Brown of Rockdale telling us it was good to hear some good news about Nancy Barron Heleman, Class of 1957.  (More on Nancy below) He is so nice to respond to any of our news that he is familiar with.  Said he didn't know Nancy personally, but does know Ray Barron, Class of 1956, her brother.

Our condolences to the family of exes mom, Janie Schramm who passed away December 16, 2007.  She was mom to Franklin Schramm, Class of 1962 and Ben Schramm, Class of 1967 of Harwood.  She will surely be missed by many.

We received an e-mail from classmate, Martha Adams Lehman, Class of 1953 of Houston.  She sent her e-mail change a few weeks back and now she has a new address.  Always good to hear from her no matter what the reason.

Had a nice phone visit with Barbara Northcott Barron, Class of 1956 this past week.  She read the last newsletter and the name of an old friend made her want to get in touch.  It was in the history of our scholarships and one given by Margaret Guthrie Crim, Class of 1942 of San Antonio.  They were neighbors back in the day when we got together on Saturdays and rolled each other's hair to look nice on Sundays.  Good reminiscing!!!  Then we discussed the fire in their hay bales.  No one got hurt was the main thing there, just lost a few bales of hay.  There was no good news this time on Nancy Barron Heleman.  Seems like everything that can happen has happened to her since her accident and no fault of anyone or anything.  She's just having a real hard time and we really need to keep her in our prayers for this long road ahead of her.

Hope you had a chance to ride around and look at all the beautiful homes decorated for Christmas.  Just never saw so many lovely decorations.  Music playing, lights flashing and just can't say enough about all the hard work that goes into those decorations.

A few exes sightings so far during the holidays:
Sue Phillips Whispant, Class of 1959 of Cypress. (I sure hope her last name is spelled correctly.)
Betty Reavis Morlan, Class of 1959 of Ohio.  These two got together and it really made Betty's trip home so enjoyable.  She and Sue hadn't seen each other in years and they had a great time visiting.  Betty will be here about 10 days.
Kristie Fisher, Class of 1989 of Conroe.
Billie Jo Fisher, Class of 1993 of New York.  Billie will be home about a week.
Adam Fisher, Class of 1995 of Round Rock.
Brandon Daniell, Class of 1994 of Cypress.
Nik Merz, Class of 1996 of Austin.
Micah Merz, Class of 1993 of Shertz.
Charlie Bernstein, Class of 1999 of Mount Pleasant.
Paul Bernstein, Class of 2001 of Mountain.
I'm sure there will be more by next week as we will be getting around a little more after the Christmas week-end is over.

We need to keep a young man in our prayers.  Moses Hinistroza, a senior this year in high school had a very bad car accident just north of Thorndale this past week. He will be in the hospital for several more weeks with a long road ahead.  Do remember him in your prayers as he really needs all the support he can get right now.
