Ex-Students News

Can't believe we had a Homecoming invitation returned to us this week.  That's almost ten (10) weeks in someone's mail box, unchecked.  It's really no one's fault, but always a shock after so long.

Our condolences go out to the family of exes dad, Dennis Lange who passed away on November 3, 2007.  He was dad to Denise Lange McCoy, Class of 1978, Rupert Lange, Class of 1981 of West Monroe, La. and Amanda who didn't attend Thorndale schools.  He was also husband of the late Jane Ann Gilchrist Lange, Class of 1955 who passed away January 15, 2004.  He will be missed by a bunch of folks because he also had a number of grandchildren among our exes.

Janice Schultz Patschke, Class of 1955 is working, trying to get new addresses for those lost exes listed in last weeks paper.  We really appreciate all the help we can get.  When we lose an ex, the chances of ever finding them again is very slim.

Our condolences to the family of Joe Frank Zajicek of Temple, formerly of Buckholts who passed away November 3, 2007.  He was the father of ex-teacher, Joe Dean Zajicek of Waco.  He will surely be missed.

Our Lady Dogs are still rolling in Cross Country.  This is their 5th straight trip to the state championships which was held this last week-end in Round Rock.  Haven't heard the results as of this writing.
The Bulldogs Cross Country team came in 6th which is great, too.
Our Bulldog Football team will continue on to bi-district after a week off.
Our Lady Dogs Volleyball team got knocked out by #1 Flatonia but did win the Area Championship.
We are so very proud of all of these students and our congratulations go out to them.

Mary Jean Yakesch Brian, Class of 1956 called and we had such a nice phone visit.  She has been throwing one of our newspapers for several years and is quiting.  Her husband ran the route before her.  She also gave us her new address in Taylor.  The price of gasoline is becoming a real problem for all who have to drive for a living.  We will miss her and our thanks for the call.

Been a little under the weather so I haven't been anywhere to hear any news.  I added a year to my age, so maybe that's the reason I've been under the weather.  No, I don't think that could make my throat sore, my head ache or give me a bad cough.  Just what a lot of other folks are having.  Hope all our exes, families and friends are staying well.

Be sure to keep us in mind when you hear of an ex-student's move for a change of address, a marriage, death or an achievement of any kind that we would be interested in hearing about.

If you have any information for us or if you need information from us, just give us a call or let us know in any way and we'll do what we can to help.  We love to hear from our exes.
