Computers are really great - - - when they work.  But, there is nothing more frustrating than a cranky computer.  Had to buy a new one but haven't had time to even open the boxes.  Then, the Internet Service Provider does away with our phone number to connect to, so no internet.  You might get to read this update and you might not.  Will have to type it and put it in the drop box at City Hall.  Enough of my problems.

Had a good phone visit with Barbara McWhirter and she says she enjoys our article.  She uses the same internet service provider that I do.  As does Rosalie & Harold Biar, Class of 1949.  They are in the same shape that I am in.

Well, our Bulldog Football team lost Friday night but it was a real nail biter.  Harper beat us 7-6 so our football season is over.  So proud of these young men.

Sure enjoyed all the Veterans Day photos in all the newspapers.  I can't imagine how in the world my mother-in-law stood the ordeal of having 3 sons at one time in the military, on foreign soil, in World War II.  Marvin Olbrich, Class of 1942 was in the Navy.  His ship was sunk by a torpedo but the crew was lucky to have another ship close enough to pick them up.  Alfred "Freddie" Olbrich and Howard Olbrich were both in the Army.  All three are deceased now.  Leroy was also in the Army but not in the war and all four brothers were Medics.  Brother-in-Law, the late A. J. Lehman, Class of 1935 was in the Air Force and came home safely as well. Brother-in-Law, Ernest Patschke was also in the Navy.  Just can't put myself in these strong mothers, wives and siblings shoes. We are so proud of all our Veterans and appreciate them for protecting our freedom.

Didn't know our Lady Dogs basketball team was ranked 4th in State in Class 1A.  They are really looking good and our congratulations to them.  We hope they keep on keeping on.

In last week's article we didn't know how our Lady Dogs cross country team did.  Well, the team came in 7th in state which is the second best finish in school history.  How proud we are of them and send along our congratulations.

Will list the last few of our exes we lost this year.  Let us know if you have an address for any of these folks.

Walked into Sirloin Stockade the other day and it was like Thorndale Day.  Exes parents, Pastor and Mrs. Walter Miller were there and we had a short visit.  Pastor Miller announced many football games, coached little league teams and much more while he was Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church here in Thorndale.  Shorty Niemtschk, Class of 1953 and wife, Julia, are always fun to visit with.  Shorty is one of my classmates and introduced me to Leroy over 53 years ago.  Special friends indeed.  Then there was Tody Hollowell, also Class of 1953 and his wife.  Then there was a familiar face we couldn't put a name to.  Stopped to visit and it was exes dad, Tom January of Rockdale.  I will be calling him in the next few days for the addresses of his children who have never been added to our rosters.  That will be 3 or 4 exes who will receive an invitation to Homecoming next year who have never received one.  Hope they will be able to come and now they can celebrate reunions with their classmates.

Elton Ray and Barbara Northcott Barron, both Class of 1956 were honored by their children on their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  It was held at the new activity center of the San Gabriel Christian Church where Ray is Pastor.  Such a lovely, special day for them.  Lots of visiting among friends, classmates and exes.  The food was arranged so lovely and there was anything you could want to eat along with coffee and punch. Our congratulations to them on this milestone in their lives.  We really enjoyed celebrating with them and getting a lot of visiting in, too.

We wish each and every one of you a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.  We have so much to be thankful for and do keep our Veterans in your prayers.
