At different times of the year, people suffer from allergies. Allergies can cause us to be miserable. Some of the symptoms of allergies can include wheezing, coughing, itching and watering eyes. Are they life threatening? Can they make us sick? Research the web to find the answers to these questions and many more.
Many of your classmates will have allergies or know someone who does. In this lesson you will research the causes and symptoms of allergies, write the effects allergies have on your respiratory system, and examine the parts of the respiratory system.
Students will work in pairs for this activity. Each
student will share the responsibility of investigating, reading, and recording
all answers to questions. The first three questions will be found in the
first web site listed, and the last three questions will be found on the

After completing the research on allergies and the respiratory system, the students will report their findings using the worksheet.
