Alumni Feature - Kimberley "Leschber" Caldwell

Kimberley Caldwell made her mark at Thorndale High School as a multi-talented student-athlete and scholar, participating in softball, volleyball, OAP, and UIL science and art competitions. Kim consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, balancing athletics, academics, and extracurricular activities, setting a foundation for her future successes and showing that dedication and perseverance can open doors to countless opportunities.
After graduating from Thorndale High School, Kim attended Texas Lutheran University, where she further pursued her love of athletics as a member of the softball team while earning her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Her experiences as a student-athlete reinforced her commitment to teamwork, discipline, and leadership—qualities that continue to guide her both personally and professionally.
Driven by her desire to help others achieve their best physical health, Kim continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since 2019, she has been a practicing physical therapist, specializing primarily in orthopedic conditions. In her role, Kim not only helps patients recover from injuries but also teaches them how to maintain their physical wellness and prevent future issues, making a lasting impact on the community she serves.
In 2022, Kim moved to the DFW area, where she met and married her husband, Robert. Outside of her professional life, she and Robert enjoy hosting family and friends, exploring new destinations, and traveling as frequently as possible. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or an international adventure, Kim embraces life with curiosity, energy, and enthusiasm, reflecting the same determination she showed in her academic and athletic pursuits.
Reflecting on her journey, Kim offers the following advice for current students and fellow alumni:
"What matters most is what you think of yourself. So many people will have advice or input on what you should or could do. It’s okay to not know everything and still trust your own path."
Kim credits much of her success to the lessons learned at Thorndale High School, from the supportive teachers and coaches to the opportunities to explore both her academic and creative passions. She encourages current students to embrace every opportunity, stay curious, and trust their instincts.
We are proud of Kim Caldwell’s accomplishments and the example she sets for Thorndale students and alumni alike. Her dedication, perseverance, and passion for helping others continue to inspire those around her, and her journey demonstrates the value of hard work, self-belief, and embracing one’s own path.
