Greetings Bulldogs! Happy Friday! We are at the final countdown. With less than 1 full week ahead of us, let's all work to finish this school year strong!
There is SOOOOO much excellence to share… hold on tight, here is a summary of all the great stories you have seen (or may have missed) on social media since the last blog:

TISD Summer Athletic Camps Information:
Thorndale ISD Shattered Dreams:
The Shattered Dreams Program reenactment is a powerful simulation designed to teach students about the consequences of poor decisions, such as reckless driving or substance abuse. It starts with a mock accident scenario, showing the emotional and social impacts of such events. Students portray the reactions of family and friends, followed by scenes depicting recovery and rebuilding after trauma.
The program encourages reflection on personal responsibility, resilience, and the importance of making wise choices. It fosters empathy, raises awareness, and highlights the significance of peer support in overcoming life’s challenges. The reenactment helps students understand that while dreams can be shattered, they can also be rebuilt through resilience and community support.

TISD Alumni Spotlight:
May Alumni Spotlight: Job Mason, Thorndale Class of 2011
Thorndale High School graduate Job Mason, Class of 2011, embodies what it means to carry the Bulldog spirit far beyond graduation. A standout during his time at THS, Job was involved in football, basketball, track, and baseball, and also served as the Senior Class Vice President. His energy, leadership, and determination were unmistakable — qualities that would serve him well in the years to come.
Following high school, Job continued his academic and athletic career at Sul Ross State University. As a member of the university’s football team, he played all four years while also pursuing his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. Never one to slow down, he went on to earn his master’s degree in the same field — showing his commitment to education and lifelong learning.
Job's athletic talent opened the door to the professional sports world, where he signed to play indoor football for the Omaha Beef in Nebraska and later for the RGV Dorados in Texas. Competing at the professional level was a major accomplishment, but the COVID-19 pandemic brought that chapter to an early close. Still, Job didn’t miss a beat. He returned to Sul Ross to begin coaching, starting as a graduate assistant and quickly earning a full-time position coaching defensive backs. His ability to pivot and lead others speaks volumes about his resilience and passion.
Today, Job is using his experiences to make an impact on the next generation. He coaches football, basketball, and track at Woodville ISD and teaches 6th grade Leadworthy — a course focused on leadership and character development. His influence goes beyond sports, helping shape students into confident, driven individuals ready to face life’s challenges.
Outside the classroom and athletic fields, Job is a proud family man. He and his fiancé are raising four children — JewellMarie Mason, Imani Thomas, Jasiah Mason, and Jamila Mason. Balancing family, coaching, and teaching, Job remains grounded in faith and focused on helping others reach their full potential.
When asked what advice he would give to current students at Thorndale, Job shared a powerful message:
“You may start late or get a bad start at whatever you do, but if you keep God with you and trust the process, how you finish will overlook how you started.”
Job Mason’s story is one of perseverance, growth, and heart. From the classrooms and locker rooms of THS to the professional sports arena and now back to the school setting as a mentor and coach, his journey reminds us that success isn’t always about where you start — it’s about how you finish. Thorndale ISD is proud to celebrate Job as an outstanding alumni and role model for our current and future Bulldogs.
