Volume 2, Issue 17: 5/2/25
Greetings Bulldogs! Happy Friday… and just like that, it is May, and almost the end of another great school year.
I want to start this week's blog by giving a shout out to all of our recent staff celebration days! Thorndale is lucky to have such great educators across every corner of the district! Recently, we celebrated our principals, our admin assistants, and our bus drivers!
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Please feel free to share kind messages and goodies to spoil our folks, they ALWAYS love the appreciation and kind things they receive from their kiddos.

2024-25 National Honor Society Inductees:
We had a HUGE number of students who met the tough qualifications required to be part of HS NHS. We are super proud of their achievements and look forward to the impact they will make on TISD. Please help me celebrate all of the new 2025 inductees and the current NHS members:

College Signing:
Congratulations to Emma Hohertz on signing to continue her passion for band at Cornell College!

High School UIL Academics:
Students recently competed at UIL Regionals and did great:
• Bradley Werner placed 1st in Biology and will advance to the State Meet at UT Austin in May!
• Karis Ginn placed 3rd in Headline Writing and is also headed to State!
• Our Science Team brought home a 3rd place finish at Regionals!
We are so proud of these outstanding students and their accomplishments.

The Junior High Tennis team competed in the District on Monday afternoon!

Track & Field:

Baseball Updates:
The Bulldogs defeated Mason 8-2 in game 1 of their Bi-District matchup in Manor. Unfortunately, their game 2 of the doubleheader had to be postponed due to weather. Thus, the boys will play again Saturday to finish game 2.

Softball Updates:
Lady Dogs softball played a great Game #1, and won 3-0 with a double play in the top of the 7th! Game two played out a bit differently as the girls came up a bit short. They will now play a game 3 Saturday (weather permitted). Good luck lady dogs!

FFA:
Thorndale FFA was represented at the Brushy Creek District Convention this week. We are proud to announce that Riley Clinard was elected as the President of the Brushy Creek District FFA. She also competed in Prepared Public Speaking, where she qualified for the Area contest. Keira Hagedorn and Riley Shock served as voting delegates and picked up our banners from Spring CDE competitions.
