Greetings Bulldogs! Happy Friday.

TISD Bond Update:
- Video #2:
Have you seen our most recent bond informational video? This is part 2 of a larger series designed to communicate progress, build excitement around current projects, and address common misconceptions about the complexity of school bonds.
I hope you will enjoy: Bond Video #2 LINK
And if you missed the first video, here it is: Bond Video #1 LINK
- Phase #2: Current Campuses Updates
Phase 2 design is still underway. My exciting update for you this time around is that the board has approved the new playground playscapes that will be installed this summer as part of the bond! There will be not one but TWO new playscapes for elementary. Check out these cool renderings. The kids are going to LOVE IT.
Rendering for the “older elementary students”:

Renderings for the “younger elementary students”:

Both playscapes will be installed within a pour-in-place rubber ground system that will be safe and look great. Additionally, the smaller playscape will utilize the current shade structure, and the larger playscape will get its own new structure.
Elementary School Planetarium (Thank You, TREE Foundation):
Thanks to a grant awarded to 4th-grade science teacher Kristen Chapman by the Thorndale TREE Education Foundation, today our elementary students got to experience the planets, solar system, and much more via a super cool experience:

- 8:00- 8:45 4th grade Earth, Sun, Moon
- 8:55-9:40 Pre-k & Kinder Sunshine
- 9:45-10:30 1st Grade Intro To The Solar System
- 10:35-11:35 LUNCH
- 11:40-12:25 3rd Grade Planets in Orbit
- 12:30-1:15 2nd Grade Intro to the Solar System
- 1:20-2:05 5th Group A Earth, Sun, Moon
- 2:10-2:55 5th Group B Earth, Sun, Moon
3rd Grade - Native American History:
Our 3rd graders have been learning about Native American history and culture over the past few weeks. Today, they had a special opportunity to hear from presenters, including three students who shared their knowledge, a presenter who brought artifacts from their land, and a Native American guest who spoke to both classes.
It was a great day of learning and hands-on experiences for our students!

Thorndale MS & HS Band:
The HS Band competed yesterday at the Region 18/26 UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation in Bastrop and had another outstanding performance! They earned straight 1’s from all three judges for their stage performance and straight 1’s from all three sight-reading judges.
With this achievement, the Fightin’ Band from Bulldog Land has earned Sweepstakes for 10 straight years — a full decade of Sweepstakes!
Another historic moment for Thorndale. We are incredibly proud of these students and their directors!

For the first time in school history, the Thorndale Middle School Band earned straight 1s at UIL! Out of 16 bands, only 6 received a First Division in both stage performance and sightreading on Tuesday.
We are so proud of these students and their hard work!

Thorndale FCCLA:

Thorndale FCCLA had another successful trip to Galveston at the 2026 Region IV Conference!
