At last night’s meeting, our Board approved the implementation of a Therapy Dog program. Please see all of the documents in the shared Google drive folder below.

Our new puppy will arrive on campus after the Thanksgiving break. Her training will begin with lots of socialization so don’t be surprised to see her greeting students in the morning, making appearances on the playground, stopping over during passing periods, or saying goodbyes after school.

In an effort to make this pup a community project, we are going to send out Google forms where staff and students can make name suggestions. Elementary teachers will have to submit on behalf of their students, but MS/HS students will have access to submit their own name suggestions. We will then narrow those suggestions down to five for everyone to vote on.

This new program is something that we are extremely excited about and will we will share more as we go through the puppy's training process.

** Parent Letter (Please sign and return ONLY if you DO NOT give permission for your child to spend time with a therapy dog at TISD. No action is needed if you allow your child to participate with the therapy dog.)
