Thorndale ISD Receives USDA Waiver for Students to

get FREE Lunch & Breakfast

Free Student Lunches & Breakfast from 9-17-2020 until 12-18-2020 or until USDA funds run out. 

Thorndale ISD has received a waiver from the USDA which will allow for all of our students to receive free breakfasts and lunches

This will be in effect from 9-17-2020 until 12-17-2020 or until USDA’s funds run out. When this happens we will return to August’s meal prices- Elementary lunch: $2.45, Middle School $2.60, High School lunch: $2.75 and all breakfasts $1.50 (reduced meal prices: lunch: $.40 and breakfast: $.30).

The free meals are for the students’ first complete meal – any second meals, extra  entrees, or extra items will be charged to the students’ meal accounts. They will only be allowed to do this if they have money in their account.

All account balances will remain in the students’ accounts. Negative balances should be paid as soon as possible.

This waiver is for student meals only. All staff/adult meals will remain at $3.85 for lunch and $2.55 for breakfast. 

Please continue to send in your free/reduced applications, so those who qualify will continue to receive free or reduced meals once the USDA’s funds run out.
